Hi. Im trying to back-up my 2TB hard drive to several smaller USB discs. Is there a way to span the discs (As I don't want to use windows to make a larger volume). and still want to be able to read the backed-up files.
Thanks.

www.backuptool.com/span%20backups.htmThis looks promising, but it looks like it compresses the files and then they will need extracting after. There's a few problems with this: * If one of the sets of files gets corrupt / damaged / lost then the whole backup will be invalid. * I will not be able to access the files on the separate drives as they will all be compressed waiting to be extracted.

Sort of figured something out: Install "Personal Backup 6.2.24.1" found it here: www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/personal_backup.html Set it to copy to local folder (Drive letter H for example). When the drive is full it tells you and then just insert another USB drive, change it to same drive letter and it carries on! Preitty much exactly what I've been looking for. Also putting some drives with spare space to use as it will use the odd 20GB free space to fill up with the backup.
