I get asked a lot how much I charge for a disco, but they don't even say when or where!
There are many things to take into account.
Outgoings: Music collection - spent thousands over the years. * keeping up to date with latest releases - monthly subscriptions. * car tax & insurance. * Car MOT & Repairs. * space and inconvenience of keeping all the equipment. * new equipment & repairs. * consumables such as bulbs / smoke / snow liquid, glow sticks etc. * National Insurance. * Tax! * Accountant fees. * Time it takes to work out expenses and keep accounts up to date. * Public Liability Insurance Fees. * PAT Testing Fees. * many more things I will add later...
Because I like to put on a good show I don't just turn up with a laptop and a couple of lights. This does have its downside for me as there's too much gear for me to be able to set it up by myself so I enlist the help of my dad.

I have put my prices up this year. Life's too short and I need to spend more time with my friends and family who I have severely neglected over the past 10 years. I'm not packing it in, but definitely taking on a lot less.

* Tinnitus * Dad's getting too old to help with the disco. * Work Stuff. Now doing overtime and training courses. * Apart from the Tinnitus as listed above there's other health issues as my training is suffering, because of spending so much time doing disco related stuff.
