I've bought a house, (May 4, 2012 is when my offer was accepted, 14th May 2012 is when the first lot of money went from my account to the bank and WH Brown Estate agesnt) however now having problems with the estate agents & solicitors.... I have received the Fittings and Contents form, however there are a couple of inaccuracy's. It states that they are taking the shower and fittings. This has not been agreed and is also stated in the WH Brown estate agents brochure: “walk in shower enclosure with a multi jet power shower”. Also they have marked that they will be taking the log burner from the kitchen, again this has not been agreed and as stated in the brochure: “a featured multi fuelled fire to the chimney breast inset”. Also a photo from the brochure showing the log burner: I have spoken to the estate agents who have advised these issues will be rectified and a new copy forwarded to me, however the solicitors havn't yet done so and today sent a contract through with the same old Fittings and Contents form attached Just wondering where I stand - there are several things not mentioned on the form such as the driveway gate etc and nothing to state what condtion the property will be left in as on my last viewing there were doors to the rooms hanging off the hinges, cuboard doors hanging off etc, how am I protected against anything else beeing taken from the property as it doesn't sound like it's coming to me in a "Sold as seen" state.

Still not heard back from the Solicitors (30/06/2012) and now just wondering what to do about my deposit money? .... I've got it all together in one account sat in the bank, but don't know when it will be drawn out. However this is taking ages and instead of having it in a current account making nothing I reckon I should move it into another account that gives more interest seeing as this is taking so long. Anyone who has had to pay a deposit know when they take it out and do they take all the lot in one go? Cheers.

Solicitors emailed back (2-07-2012): "No unfortunately we are chasing the solicitor for this and also replies to our other outstanding enquiries so as soon as we hear from them I will let you know". Estate agent has also advised it's the solicitors I will have to make payment to for the deposit.

Got a reply from the solicitors by email today. They havn't told me anything I didn't know, but at least I have it in writing now that the shower and log burner are going to be left in. Still not sure about the other stuff? Been agreed that they are leaving the carpets in, but it doesn't state it on the paperwork. Getting a bit closer

26/07/2012: Latest reply from Blacks: "No, I keep chasing the solicitors for replies to outstanding enquiries, and I sent an e-mail to the e/a letting them know what the outstanding enquiries so they could chase as well".
Good job Im not in a hurry, but the good thing is I've time to look at other houses and might give up on this one if nothing happens soon.

I've asked the Estate agents and Solicitors to provide a moving in date and here's the reply from WHBrons: Not really the kind of reply I wanted, but hey ho... guess I need to wait a bit longer and also losing interest on all the money I have paid out.

I emailed the solicotors 17-09-2012 asking if they can send my money back as Im losing out on the inerest and asked how long it looks like taking. Here's there reply: I also emailed the estate agents asking again for a date, but as yet have had no reply - maybe they are strugging to find a computer again? Bit pissed off now. No idea how I go about pulling out of the sale and how much it would cost me? Don't really want to, but it's just taking too long and not having any money isn't nice either. Posted on MSE asking for advice.

I don't think the estate agents understand I have already paid my solicitors fees and even sent my deposit to them.

Estate agens emailed me back: Afternoon Gareth Further to your email. Unfortunately neither of the two free quoted are refundable. The Halifax fee of £355 was the survey/valuation fee. The £498 is my fee and the valuation administration fee. (I attach a copy of the company terms of business) When you find another property I will give you free mortgage advice which is what the lifetime fee entitles you to. A new valuation fee will be payable for any new property. The Halifax should honour that product providing you find a new property within 6 months of the original offer date. However there may be a better product available once you have found a new property.
